Girl’s night out? No? Well how about a girl’s night in then?
My daughter is tucked up in bed and my friend is coming over for a girly evening. Now being a Mother has allowed me to view many of my former choices and acknowledge they really were not serving me well… but a girl still gotta to have fun right???
I now swap my previous tipple for a much healthier, and tastier alternative… and am definitely grateful of my choice in the next morning!
- 1 Banana
- ½ Avocado
- Juice of 1 Lime
- 4-5 Mint Leaves
- ¼ Cup Hemp Seeds
- Add water for your consistency preference
Refreshing, light and energizing!
Avocado is a complete food with ‘good’ fats. Great for leveling out blood sugar and reducing sugar cravings. Hemp seeds are my most favorite cupboard item and in my opinion totally underrated. Boasting all 10 amino acids and an enormity of protein… 3 tablespoons= 11 grams. Perfect for us vegans! Also the mint, which is super easy to grow in your garden or even on your kitchen window ledge is a natural stimulant and has been known to relieve depression and fatigue.
This is a recipe I have come to use time and time again and even my not so green-smoothie-loving friends enjoy it! If I am entertaining I add more water or coconut water and serve this ‘on the rocks’. For me its fun to give the option of something a little different from the normal glass of wine or cup of tea to my guests and every time they are asking for another glass. This one even goes down well with the children due to its light and fruity taste.
