If you’re feeling a little blue, then you might want to make this super delicious, power packed with goodness smoothie to wash those blues away! We love eating and drinking all the colours of the rainbow at EWC headquarters and what better way to include the dark rich navy/purple tones in your diet than to include the small humble vitamin C enriched blueberry.
Natures dark pearls of the bush can be easily grown in your backyard that are resistant to most pests and diseases, and can produce for up to 20 years. Even though they aren’t the same navy colour after you make a smoothie with them, blue is seen as a common colour one we can find all over the planet from the sky to the ocean, it’s seen as a trustworthy, dependable, and committed colour. Blue is also one colour both men and women like, so with all this in mind – add more blue to your life and others around you!
Still not convinced? Well British researchers fed young adults a cup and a half of blueberries, then measured effects on mood, memory and decision making, no surprise but their mood scores rose 15% five hours after consumption. So it’s a proven to wash away that moody feeling and if you add some feelings of love and happiness to this smoothie, what a boost it will give you! Come on ladies give it a try I know you want too!
Why so blue?
- 1 cup coconut/almond/hazelnut/ milk
- 1TBS almond butter
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 – 1 cup frozen blackberries
- pinch cinnamon
- 1 tsp of Maca powder
- pinch of laughter
Blitz all ingredients together in the blender until creamy and smoothie consistency. If you need it more sweet add some honey or coconut sugar. Once you start to eat a more plant based diet you won’t need things as sweet and neither will the kids.
